Kristine Womack Ziems is a founding member and Chief Executive Officer of Touchpoint. As an attorney and consultant specializing in legal development in emerging democracies, she has over 17 years of professional experience and six years of overseas field experience living and working in Eastern Europe, the Caucuses, and Central Asia. Mrs. Ziems has a worked with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), academic institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and private firms. She is a published author on a variety of legal development issues, has developed and presented rule of law training curricula for professionals – including internationals and local nationals, as well as law students, and has first hand experience developing and implementing governance and rule of law programs.
Mrs. Ziems has a broad range of programmatic experience including anti-corruption efforts, anti-trafficking in persons, civil society development, comparative law – including Shari’a law, traditional/informal/customary laws, criminal defense/legal aid development, custody and detention laws, election laws and observation, gender advocacy, human rights advocacy, legislative drafting, professional legal development, and public awareness campaigns.
Mrs. Ziems received her Bachelors of Arts in government and philosophy from the University of Texas. She holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston and is licensed by the State Bar of Texas.
